Family Support Worker

Erica Fearn

Family Support Worker

My name is Erica Fearn and I am so excited to be your school Family Support Worker! Working with children and their families is my passion, which is why I feel so lucky to be a part of the St White's Family.

Where can you find me?

If you are dropping your child(ren) off at school, it may be convenient to have a chat before the day begins. I am available from 8.30am – 9.00am every morning where you can either find me in my office or chatting with families out on the playground. If you would like to arrange a meeting for a different time of day, please feel free to give me a call or an email. You can get hold of me via the school office on 01594 822311 or via email.

What is a Family Support Worker?

A Family Support Worker is here to support the pupils(s) and their parents and/ or caregivers. If you have any concerns regarding your child’s behaviour and/or emotional wellbeing, I am here to help. Also, I am here to assist with referrals for outside support when necessary. My goal is to make sure all pupils and parents/ caregivers feel comfortable talking to me so that I can help all kids feel safe and happy when they come to school.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if your child or family would benefit in any way.

Young Minds Matter
Young Minds Matter (YMM) is a safe and confidential mental health support service developed for children and young people up to 18 years of age in schools across Gloucestershire.
We are delighted that our school has been given the opportunity to take part in a new, national programme to help make mental health support for children and young people more available when they need it.

We are one of over 70 schools from Cheltenham, Gloucester and the Forest of Dean to work with the NHS in Gloucestershire to introduce Mental Health Support Teams into schools.

We hope that these teams will provide valuable support to our pupils to help them with life’s ups and down, for example, with issues such as anxiety, friendship concerns, exam stress and challenging behaviour.

This may involve group work and/or individual, one-to-one support, either at school or elsewhere. Where appropriate, the Mental Health Support Team will also link up with the specialist mental health services in Gloucestershire. They will also support parents and teachers to help children and young people who are experiencing difficulties.

If you have any questions or concerns or would like to make a referral to the service, please contact Erica.
