Project Groups

Each year, each class has a project which they work on. These are designed to show pupils how they can do something to change the world for the better. They might be focusing on a local project or something more widely.

Sparrow Class 2024-2025
Sparrow Class achieved the Woodland Trust Gold Award. They learnt about why trees are so important and were appreciating how lucky we are to have so many trees in our local environment. They completed projects to raise awareness and protect the trees.
Skylark Class 2024-2025
Skylark Class worked with the University of Gloucestershire and the Dean Heritage Centre to learn about local poets. They held their very own poetry showcase.
Jay and Woodpecker 2024-2025
Jay and Woodpecker Classes took part in the 'Lions at Large' project that raised money for the Cheltenham and Gloucester Hospital Charity. Their Lion was part of a trail in the summer of 2025 where there were lots of lions on display around Gloucestershire decorated by local artists. They easily raised over the £750 needed to take part and the money raised by the project went towards new cancer care facilities in Gloucestershire. The Lion Cub was named 'Cinderheart' was on display in Gloucester Cathedral and is now living back at the school.
Swift 2023-2024
In Swift, we were trying to make our schools grounds better by improving the school pond. We had the support of the site supervisor in clearing the site thanks to letters that we wrote. The Forest Rangers came to support us with our project.
We were also lucky enough to go and see beavers released into the forest.
Peregrine 2023-2024
We were the Peregrine Charity Committee. It was our job to organise all of the charity events for the school for the year. This involved us having to write letters to parents and staff as well as writing articles for the newsletter. This year, we supported The Royal British Legion, Children in Need, Comic Relief, NSPCC Number Day, the Foodbank and ran a Readathon for Read for Good.
Heron 2023-2024
In Heron, they wanted to keep the school active. They were surveying the school and parents about what we could do to improve. They applied for the Tesco Stronger Starts.
Woodpecker 2023-2024
We were working on Road Safety and wrote to the PCSOs. They came in to visit us and we checked for speeding traffic on St White's Road. A journalist came to school so we were featured in The Review! We organised a whole school road safety walk too.
