Computing

Computing and Internet Safety

Learning computing gives our pupils the chance to develop their ways of thinking and creativity: enabling pupils to access our whole curriculum digitally and empowering them to be able change the world.  Through learning digital literacy including internet safety, computer science and information technology, our pupils are given the tools and skills to be successful in both their current and future education, and eventually in their adult lives as they are taught to be active, responsible and principled participants in a rapidly changing digital world.

Through our programme of study, pupils will develop resilience and problem-solving skills by learning how to be ‘computational thinkers’. We want our pupils to have a breadth of experience through a high-quality computing education so that children understand the pivotal role technology plays in their lives through an understanding of data representation and analysis. Pupils will become autonomous, independent users of computing technologies gaining enjoyment and experience in writing, analysing and evaluating computer programs.  In addition, they will learn to be responsible, competent, confident and creative users of information and communication technology while learning the skills to manage any possible impact that an online presence might have on their mental health.

Computing Club
Mr Hayward and Mr Pagan-Lodge ran a computing club. The children tried a range of projects and improved their computing skills.
